Business Growth Tips for 2013
So, here we are, at the start of a New Year. While many of us are a few days in to our New Years resolutions, some of us are starting to think about what we want to achieve for our business this year
The past few years have been tough on business. Here are a few handy tips for sustaining and growing your business in 2013.
1. Monitor your progress
Make sure you are tracking your growth on a weekly basis. Keep track of your client conversion rate, how your employees are handling their tasks, how successful your current marketing plan is. All of these small areas will help to highlight areas of your business that are working well, and those that are not.
2. Remember you are the boss!
If you have several employees within your company make sure they are doing what you hired them to do. Too many directors still find themselves doing small menial tasks in the office. This is either because they have problems relinquishing control, or because they do not trust their staff. Either put your faith in the people you have hired or look to hire new people who can help your business grow.
3. Forget about 2012…
What happened last year was then, this is now. Just because you had an incredible years sales or profit last year, does automatically mean the same will happen in 2013. Pick a few things that went well last year, and brainstorm how you can develop and sustain the momentum from these successes. This year will throw new challenges at you. You cannot keep looking back to 2012. You need to look ahead and keep your business fresh and flexible.
4. Put substance over style….
Many businesses can get lost in how they want their business/brand to be seen, rather than showing clients and potential customers what it is they can do. Although stylish logos and expensive marketing can look impressive, what customers want to see is how you can help them and their businesses. So rather than tying yourself up in an expensive marketing project, do something simple instead… Think of 3 ways your business has helped another company or individual. Get some great feedback from customers and clients, and then share it with as many people as you can.
