Claim for wage costs through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. Government Guidance
00:00 – The Covid job retention scheme is probably one of the biggest things to come out of this whole sorted mess that we’ve got into the you know, people are losing loved ones. The country’s in lockdown, but at least we’ve got this, uh, retention scheme and hopefully with a view to set up the economy for a running start when the lockdown finishes, whether that happens or not, I’m not convinced.
And I’ve done a workshop. On that particular topic, which you can access anytime night or day on demand. Just look for the postcode, avid world webinar, a workshop, and you can watch the recording anytime you like. But what I want to just make sure that you understand is that the retention scheme is open to any employer.
01:00 – With employees on the pay scheme. It’s open to any employee on the scheme, including directors. It’s open, uh, and pays up to 80% of the government will give you a grant up to 80% plus national insurance of any salary up to two and a half thousand pounds. Even if the salary is 5,000 pounds a month, the government will still support you for two and a half thousand pounds.
Plus employers national insurance, so that’s really good. The issues all that. You call on some be making claims just yet because the government portal isn’t ready and they say it’s going to be ready the end of April. I’m personally not convinced if they can’t get a PPE to all nurses and doctors, I’m not convinced they’re going to be able to get money claims to businesses.
Now, that may mean your business is at risk. You know, you’ve got to, you’ve got to get some plans ready for that because what I don’t want to do to lose your business without a plan, and if you lose your businesses in a planned way about you can start up again and get the economy running again.
